Some background: Sasha Alexander, known only as Sasha to his legion
of fans, is apparently a superstar in Germany and parts of Europe. So much so,
that he was nominated along with Will Smith, Ricky Martin, George Michael and
Robbie Williams for Best International Male Artist at the 1999 MTV Europe Awards.
This West German native formed his first band, "Junk Food" at age
sixteen, and had his first Europe hit as a backup singer with Young Deenay in
1997. Since then he has been a pop-star in Germany, with a long string of hits
- 7 chart singles in a row, 2 of which went platinum and 2 gold albums.
Just how Zak Starkey and Phil Spalding happened to end up as session men for
the recording of his 2001 release is not yet known!!
