Roger Daltrey & Friends

Roger and his "friends" performed Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at the Stars 2002 Gala benefit for the Fulfillment Fund at Fox Studios in Los Angeles. The Fulfillment Fund is a nonprofit organization founded in 1977 by Dr. Gary Gitnick, that provides economically disadvantaged students with the resources, tools and skill needed to graduate from high school and obtain an advanced education. The fund celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year.

Roger's band included his friends Zak Starkey and Simon Townshend. Also appearing with him that evening was Johnny Lang on guitar, Tony Silver on bass and G Tom Mac (Gerrard McMann) on keyboards. The friends rehearsed for two days prior to the performance.

The band performed a 45 minute set of Who classics:
Baba O'Riley, Who Are You, Behind Blue Eyes, The Kids Are Alright, Won't Get Fooled Again, Pinball Wizard, See Me Feel Me / Listening To You [The finale included the 60 member First AME Church 'Voices of Gospel' Choir.

The event raised in excess of $3,500,000.
[The 'black tie' packages started at $5000, and public tickets were announced Nov 11 at $500.]
